Prince Rama Varma plays the very popular Bhavayaami Raghu Ramam on the veena with MDR-like sensitivity and precision at Swati Smruthi at the Kuthiramalika palace in Jan 2005.

  • Mesmerizing Mohanam! The rhythmic play among the two percussionists and the Morsing vidhwan is scintillating. Thanks for uploading.

  • every time i see this video, i see something new in it. as superb as varmaji is in his play, both the percussionists, harikumar and karthick are wonderful, complementing each other brilliantly. it is fascinating to see the way they compete with each other, adds so much to the song.

  • awesome - i can feel as though MDR is singing this kriti.....very well presented.

  • This verse is in the pentatonic scale, which is common in, e.g. Scottish music (Coming through the rye)

  • Excellent! Sometimes I get the impression as if some western (melody-) elements were used...?

  • Mesmerizing!!!!!!!
