Everybody Wins The Mission:1 'Throwdown' In Ohio!

When Pastor Robin LaBolt of Sycamore United Church of Christ in rural Wyandote County challenged her buddy -- Pastor Dave Jones of Trinity UCC in nearby McCutchenville -- to a spaghetti and meatball 'Throwdown,' ala the Food Network's Bobby Flay, they initially set a goal to raise $1,111 for Mission:1. The two Ohio pastors not only met the goal, they more than doubled it!! They collected over $2,300, and close to 400 canned goods this weekend.

We had about 300 people come through the line, and while the judges chose Pastor Dave's meatballs as the winner, the people's vote favored Pastor Robin 110 to 57. Looks like everybody came out a winner!
