In Arabic "Shahada" is an expression word of a sentence you say while understanding what it means to enter Islam and you also say it when you're about to die.

"I bear witness that there's no God but Allah and that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the servant and Messenger of Allah."

You born again christians do not even read your own bible. I am shocked the stupidity and ignorance of so called born again christians in regards to their own bible. They do not read their own scriptures!! All they do is sit and watch American Idol or other TV trash. Sad

You born agains go to church every sun and sit in t shirts and blue jeans....listen to some music....then rush like hell to get to Cracker Barrel. You do not have ANY spiritual depth or life. Sad Sad Sad

Assalaam alaikum, Hanni! You know, we have to be gentle. If it were a christian saying about us what you are saying about them, you wouldn't like it, right? However 'sad' it may be, we can't attack or insult an entire group of people, even if they attack us. I've been guilty of that before, but al hamdulillah, I'm learning more & more. You do have a point, but your delivery is a little too hard, and will have a negative effect, rather than bringing folks to Islam. And Allah is All-Knower. Peace!

I think a shada is when you say that word to convert to islam

To believe in your heart 100% that there is only One God who has no partner, and Muhammed (pbuh) is his final messenger.

If this is what any person truely accepts and believes then he is Muslim wether he realises it or not.

the word shahada means "witness" - All muslims witness/testify that "There is no god by Allah (The God), and Muhammad (PBUH) is his messenger".... When someone enters Islam he/she say the shahada or bare witness/testify to this message.
