The Flyers hated Sandstrom because of his cheapshot antics. If you watch the clip, Sandstrom butt-ends Mark Howe in the face. Then Brad McCrimmon and Dave Brown go after Sandstrom. He initiates the entire thing . . .

If you watch the video carefully, you will see that Sandstrom initiates the altercation when he butt ends Mark Howe in the face. The Flyers - Brad McCrimmon and Dave Brown - are reacting the blatant cheap shot to Howe's face.

How many times did Dave Brown crosscheck Sandstrom in the face in his career? WE all know about the 21 gm suspension in 87-88 season. Why all the hostility toward a soft Euro such as Sandy?
