The debut of the Public Enemy in the WWF. Gangrel and Edge take them on with Christian at ring side. Blood bath for Grunge and Rock.

  • Cryme Tyme is basically what The Public Enemy was. It's too bad Rocco Rock passed away in 2002 and Johnny Gunge as well in 2006. They truly were an awesome tag team. Their time in ECW was the most memorable in my eyes.

  • Damn Public Enemy would've had a decent feud with The Brood if they were properly treated!

  • my dumbass cousin said they were ICP without the make up. But thats why he's a dumbass!

  • "We're going to ROCK Your asses off!" The Mack Daddies of Hardcore.

    R.I.P. Public Enemy!

  • @mmscott9 I agree with that and I've got no problem with people who were big fans of ECW. It wasn't my cup o tea, but diff strokes for diff folks ya know?

Im mostly referring to ppl who became ECW fans post 2001 bc it was the hipster non-mainstream thing to do. If ECW had as many fans back then as they do today, they wouldve never folded.

    .

  • @StuUngar Overrated to who? Its fans? Its core of fans were really all that mattered to its success and legacy. It went under because it only appealed to core niche markets.

  • @mmscott9 I def don't remember it being a huge pop. But I saw it live and havent watched it since.

If I remember right, he debuted at Madison Square Garden too. MSG always has a lot of smart fans attending, not to mention it's not far from Philly. If there was any reaction, they were the ones cheering.

  • @StuUngar When Taz debuted against Kurt Angle, did he get a huge pop or a silent reception?

  • @jamille5150 Yeah, and that's not to downplay ECW. While ECW was good, cutting edge, innovative, etc, old school ECW is overrated. For a lotta guys like Jericho and Malenko, it was a short term place to hold them over until they went to one of the bigger feds. Other guys like RVD, Dudleys, Raven, Foley, etc, had to go elsewhere to really make a name for themselves.

Then there were guys like Dreamer and Douglas who were, imo, overrated themselves.

  • @StuUngar PE did the hand waving thing In ECW but ECW was great for them cuz PE weren't really great wrestlers and i agree bout WWE and WCW fans not giving a shit about ECW stars hence y nobody gave 2 shits about Sabu Sandman among other being in either organization Except the Dudleys who were pretty much over in WWE despite comming from ECW

  • @ProWrestlingWatcher PE was made into a joke long before they went to WWF. They were a joke in WCW with the arm waving and their "lodi dodi dodi, we likes to party" gimmick. The fans didn't care bc very few gave a shit about ECW.

Shane Douglas, Sandman, Jazz, Taz, Raven, and every other ECW name debuted to silent crowds in WWE & WCW bc ECW had little to no following. Now years after ECW has collapsed, every person who worked there is some sort of God.

  • wasn't this public enemy's only match in the wwf?
