Steam on the Waushakum highline during the annual New Years Day run. Although the place was still blanketed with snow from the previous week's blizzard, we couldn't have asked for better weather on 1-1-11, with partly cloudy skies and temps in the 50s. Although there was no steam on the 7 1/4" gauge groundline (mostly due to the hydraulic lift being shut down for the winter and snowed in), a few diesels made it out to play. Steam ruled the highline though, with five locomotives running including my 3.5" gauge Paul Huntington-built B&M Atlantic no. 3209. This was my first time attending the Waushakum New Years run, what a wonderful way to start the new year!
