There are certainly many lessons to learn from the Kenneth Foster victory. The victory was the result of the entire Texas anti-death penalty movement working together, including every anti-death penalty organization in Texas, as well as Kenneth's lawyers and family members and some long-time supporters of Kenneth from other U.S. states and around the world.
One important lesson is that organizing works. In particular, affecting public opinion through grassroots organizing works. Pressuring elected officials works. Texas is not a lost cause, as some people outside Texas sometimes seem to think. Here in Texas, we have known for some time that we are making progress. But, we also know that the national anti-death penalty movement should be investing more time and money in Texas. Investing more financial and other resources into the Texas anti-death penalty effort would pay off in more of the type of successes that we saw with the Save Kenneth Foster Campaign.

The Texas anti-death penalty movement would like to ask for more help from national funders and organizations. Some people do understand that Texas is where a lot of effort should be expended. For instance, we are thrilled that the Journey of Hope is coming back to Texas this fall. But, we need more resources and more help. With increased attention to Texas, we will be able to win more often and we will be able to significantly reduce popular support in Texas for the death penalty and greatly reduce the number of executions that take place here.

  • lol now you know you are wrong. You have no answer for that, thats why you are just resorting to calling me a fool. Think about this, What happens in the death penalty. You are killed. Somebody takes your life. That is fact. Or it wouldnt be called teh death penalty. There is a death. But its not just random. you dont just die. Somebody takes your life. There is no way around the facts man. And taking a life doesnt solve anything. It only leads to more.

  • Its true, life imprisonment is cheaper. I dont know where these other people get their facts from. And yes i agree the death penalty is a bs way out of responsability as a human being. "lets just off them". Yeah im sure the people who agree with the death penalty also are horrified to hear about the salem witch trials. Too many hypocrits. No matter the accusation, there is no excuse for murder. PERIOD. Self defence is one thing, but taking lives because someone else did, is being a hypocrit.

  • @ma7799 eah, with all the people out there with prior murder convictions......ya know, since texas is so well known for letting killers go home.

  • @ma7799 Ill i have to say to that, is reaserch it for urself ;)

  • @punkeratheart

If you are worried about innocent people being executed, don't convict innocent people. The U.S, justice system is the best in the world. Love it or hate it. It depends how "innocent" these ccumbags are anyway. The ones that have previous murder convictions are the best examples! Ha!

  • @TruthhturT

    No, it's law enforcement.

  • @ma7799 Life without parole accomplishes that. I understand the death penalty's intended "purpose", but that has nothing to do with prosecutors who want notches in their belt whether it's at the cost of an innocent life or not, judges who have a religious or political agenda, juries who let emotions and prejudices cloud their judgement, and cops, witnesses, and DAs who falsify and fabricate whatever they can to get a conviction. Evidence is planted, people lie. Innocent people WILL be executed.

  • @punkeratheart

The purpose of the death penalty is to rid society of a dangerous capital criminal. If you cannot grasp that, I cannot help you.

  • @TruthhturT

"Its true, life imprisonment is cheaper. I dont know where these other people get their facts from"

No, it is cheaper to execute because dead scumbags are priceless. The fruitless appeals are the reason why the costs add up, and that is because they are doing all they can to delay it.

  • @ma7799 Your lack of logic is giving me a headache. We will avoid future false convictions . . . . by . . not convicting innocent people? Oh, and for scrapping the entire "justice" system, INCLUDING prisons, I am already on it. Where's the petition? I will sign it with my own name and 10 aliases. The system's broken, innocent people get convicted of crimes all the time, and simply saying "gee, we should start ONLY frying GUILTY people" is not going to accomplish much. Besides, it's hypocritical.

  • @Springr1911

    The liberal agenda:

"oh No! I;m knocked up! please let me kill my baby!"

"oh no! Please don;t give that scumbag a lethal injection because they might suffer some pain from the needle."

  • @DoctorSapperstein

he should have been juiced instead. don't worry about Shaggy in the video; he is wasting his time protecting scumbags
