We as individuals ( & societies, institutions, countries etc) are always looking for a reflection of ourselves, or what we THINK ourselves IS, or hope it WILL BE. Like that quote from T.S. Elliot " the longest journey begins and ends with the self..." This s the selling strength of such technology....in my opinion.
