This role was a leading role. She was the focal point of the movie and appeared from start to finish. The Weinstein company shifted it to supporting role cause they thought her performance in revolutionary road was too strong. By doing this they hope it would also win supporting.

Given that she has been nominated like a billion times before for these awards but neva wins, I'd be over the moon too if I won not one but two! in one night. So her reaction is truly genuine and highly understandable.
