  • A lot of you have got the right idea. The Firebird is the V6 package and the Trans Am was the V8... This was obviously a Trans Am, however, it didn't have the cool Ram Air and it wasn't any kind of special edition.

  • no the firebird is the 3.8L v6 and the formula and trans am are both the 5.7L v8

  • @Ratmouth66 Looks like i had my facts backwords then haha sorry about that.

  • my 2002 trans am ws6 has hit 165

  • @Ratmouth66 I'm going to try to post a video today for the exhaust. Magnaflow is good kit. Hope you see it soon!

  • @suzakgj yeah my friend had a 2000 Firebird V6 and it was just as fast as my 91' Camaro RS w/305, bet it got a lot better gas mileage though haha. Ironicly the only mod on my Camaro is a Magnaflow exhaust, great minds think alike ;-) haha

  • @Ratmouth66 V6 was the 3.8L. I have one currently. Looking to sell it next spring as soon as it warms up here in MI.. Sorry no videos of it currently. Don't have to believe me but, I've gotten it up to 125 on the highway. Only mod is a magnaflow exhaust kit :) The 3.8 is a strong v6, don't get me wrong but I'm glad I chose it!

  • @Foosbabaganoosh The Firebird Formula was not called a Trans Am, but had the same engine as the Trans Am. Most of the differences were cosmetic, though.

Awesome car, cool video. Fastest I've ever been in anything was 130 and I was just as excited as you guys were (I was in a non-turbo Eagle Talon, so it took quite a bit more time to get there lol).

  • @SomeDumbAss88 actually its exactly the other way around lol, also not trying to be a dick, i just wikipedia'd to make sure i wasnt going crazy xD

  • @Ratmouth66 the LS1 is a 350, your thinking of the LT1 thats a 346. not trying to be a dick, just lettin you know.

  • @Foosbabaganoosh Trans Am is like Z28 or SS, it's an addition to the the Firebird. It's called a Firebird Trans Am, like a Camaro SS. Equivalent of Camaro Z28 is the Firebird Formula 1.

  • @retanimiceD not that rare, my 01 is manual
