Day 9 in the Big Bunny house

Just letting every one know that Lilo gave birth to 4 kits last night. This is surprising for several reasons, the first being that Lilo was very poorly treated when she was a baby and we where informed that her internal organs where misplaced and under formed and it would be practically impossible for her to conceive and give birth without dying. The second reason being that a month ago we had Chi Castrated.

When I came down stairs to check on our lovely bunnies I found that Lilo had made a nest in their bed area and had ripped out a lot of her fur to line it, curious to see what was going on I placed my hand inside the nest only to find something small and squishy wriggling in there. Shocked I fell over backwards onto my bottom,. After composing myself I proceeded to run up stairs to Sarah and Mikes room (Jono still being asleep in bed at the time) asking Mike (Sarah was at uni) for a Cuddle as I was in a state of mild shock. Mike then very calmly took me down stairs to check on the Kits. After many frantic calls to vets and friends who are very knowledgably inclined with Bunnies we managed to confirm that Lilo was perfectly healthy, and that all 4 of the kits where breathing and moving fine.

We are now the proud Grandparents of some of the most beautiful baby ¼ Angora dwarf Lops you will ever see in your life!

If any one is interested in adopting one of the baby bunnies in 6-8weeks time then please let either me or Jono know so we can put you on a short list. Any Rabbits that are not adopted will be given to the pet shop.
