You know? Taxi drivers like to think they're the best drivers in London but that is incredibly poor. Even if he had got ahead of you, there was no benefit from it. People need to start driving with their brain in gear...

What I would give to know what goes on in that tiny little mind...not much I would have thought

@SkrzypczykBass Yeah, the sunken ones are the worst. They may seem like nothing if you are driving a car but its a different story on a road bike with 23mm tyres! You can usually spot the areas of badly repaired road as these are the first to go when the weather turns more wintery...

@rogerhotuk I had to set off from there the other day s I needed to collect something from Sainsbury before work. Had 4 or 5 other riders to my left so had to take primary from the off. That drain cover is a bloody hazard! Mind you I'm spotting more and more sunken sections atm and we haven't even had the snow and freeze/thaw yet.....

@dronespace yep. gives me the jitters every time I replay the clip...

@SkrzypczykBass I've watched the clip a few times in an effort to work out if there was something I could've done differently (take a stronger line from the start , signal or indicate). However, by the time I'd set-off, clipped-in and taken a few turns of the pedals he was right behind me.

@rogerhotuk I bet they won't do anything about it. talking from much experience and hard work.

@CycleGaz Yes, I am not holding my breath. Last time I went through this process (emails, phone calls, interviews etc with the MET and PCO) ended up with a pretty unsatisfactory outcome. Do you think its worth sending this to the PCO as well?
