QRNational (QRN) CLP & CLF class locomotive lashup consisting of CLP13, CLF7, CLF1 & CLP9 with a long freight train consisting of 52 container wagons is seen passing the Locomotive Provisioning Centre (LPC) at Dynon just before 8pm on 18/9/09. The train is P&O service MA6 running from Melbourne to Adelaide. The lead locomotive is painted in the QRNational (QRN) "Bumblebee" livery while the other three locomotives carry the Australian Railroad Group (ARG) orange livery.
The CLP & CLF class locomotives were originally delivered in the early 1970's as the Commonwealth Railways CL class. Commencing in 1992 the CL class were rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen Australia (MKA) into the CLP and CLF classes which were designed for passenger and freight duties respectively, although now both classes are used solely on freight train duties. The CLP/CLF class have a EMD 16-645E3C prime mover which develops 3300HP.
