Jacquard Products specifically recommends NOT using the Pearl Ex in make-up applications. Their explanation: PearlEx is manufactured as an art material in an production environment much different than that used in the manufacture of cosmetics. It has not been approved for use as a cosmetic by the organizations responsible for testing that classification of product.
Pearl Ex IS non-toxic in applications for which it is approved - as an art material.

@wendykinz I do... just careful if you wear contacts, because the flakes ARE larger, but with a good mixing agent so it doesn't float off, should be fine. Adds sparkles instead of solid color. :-)

by the way, when u put hese on an paper, then tilt it, does it color shift meaning does it change colors to different angles of light?

@sparklerbombg a few of them yes but not all... with different bases they will change (as with most pigments) but they only have a few that are duochrome :) and I got mine at Michael's
