Chris Nickerson's Court Services Revamp Saves Costs and Improves Service

In less than three years with the Court Services Branch, Chris Nickerson has revamped two service areas with caring, innovation and entrepreneurial dynamism. He was brought in to tackle a fractured and disparate region for sheriff services and, because of his success, was offered the executive director spot leading both the sheriffs and court administration.

By building relationships with his staff and stakeholders, he has improved service for British Columbians and improved budget management. One example is the cost savings and streamlining of local services throughout the north by merging Court Services, Service BC and Social Development operations into a single front counter.

Having come from running an ambulance service makes Chris' calm confidence, humility and curiosity in leading these three different, complex businesses even more impressive.
