Whale Shark Kona Hawaii by Rob White

By Rob White. I am a spearfisherman but I am also and avid underwater videographer. A friend and I were out checking the local FAD's for game fish like Mahi Mahi, Ono, Ahi and Marlin when we noticed a shape at the edge of visibility so large I thought for sure this was the largest Marlin anyone has ever seen. I looked over at my buddy, who's eyes were as big as watermelons. Who would have ever thought a 25 foot whale shark would use a FAD to try and hide under like little fish do?

howzit bradah Rob! i swam with a whale shark some time ago out at B buoy outside Milolii! Exact same thing, the big boy was just cruising right under the buoy! Aloha...bradah Jake
