Congenital cataract surgery is different from that of senile cataract. We have to ensure a closed eyeball throughout the procedure. A good viscoelastic, proper well centered rhexis (half work done), primary posterior capsulotomy and anterior vitrectomy are essential steps to be mastered. A capsular bag friendly IOL should be used. All the openings (main tunnel and side ports should be closed meticulously).
