Get a decent tuner and it will be accurate, but I'v definitely noticed that on a few occasions, they'll be off by like 1/4 of a spin.

This also applies to electronic tuners. If you match G, d and E so that the needle in the tuner is perfectly in the center is not really in tune. Every violin or instrument I should say will have a different resonance, that's why you tune it to itself. This does not apply to electronic instruments where the sound produced is really a recording of an actual instrument.

I enjoy your videos, they are very helpful. If I may add to your tuning techniques, you can tune the A to a tuned piano but G D and E are only used to get somewhere close to being tuned(using the piano). A piano is tuned against itself and so is a violin, using 5ths. This means that the for example when you tune A to D, there is a harmonic in D that will match the pure harmonic of A and so on. Same thing for G to D and E to A.
