I use to think these were the most annoying birds in the world but after watching his video the next time I see a little baby mynah on the barn floor I'm gonna keep it :) (Instead of taking it to the sanctuary)

They are a big commitment as they chose a mate for life... you will be it.. They need lots of love, patience and attention to be happy

Good observation...He associates.. I repeated many phrases to him as I did something such as bringing him in the house I'd say "want to come in the house".. Going out .."Want to go out?".. "You are so funny "when we laugh. Leaving without him I'd say be right back... now he screams "be right back when I leave. When I come home he says "I missed you my little duck"

True, but they still sell turtles, rabbits..and they end up let loose in a park. They still sell Macaws and other parrots.

I remember that too. Maybe the pet trade decided it was wrong and those in charge no longer think it's ethical to create a demand for this creatures. Too many people buy pets on a whim and the animals are the ones to suffer because of it. These type of birds as well as parrots and cockatoos require a life long commitment and require a lot of effort to be even remotely happy. People only see them as smart, cute, funny, but don't think enough about the long term consequences of ownership.
