From Friday 29 August 1986, this is an extract of Children's BBC - with Debbie Flint - from the last day of morning programmes during the summer holidays.

The sequence starts with the very end of the final (twelfth) episode of Silas, in which the former circus boy ditches his new found life and rides off into the sunset with Godik. This is followed by a trailer for a new series called The Mysterious Cities of Gold, which begins on Monday, which is suffixed with news of that day's Blue Peter.

A link from Debbie Flint follows, into the next programme - Newsround Special Delivery.

  • I only wished that Silas would be release soon, but it looks like its been put on the back burner???

  • @lucasman93 You may like to know that I spoke to Fabulous Films today and Silas is still a live project. There is still a rights-holder clearance to sort out, which is under negotiation.

  • Silas is due on DVD soon in the UK from Fabulous Films. And the soundtrack including both pieces featured in this clip, by Christian Bruhn, is available in stereo on CD from German retailers.

  • Of course these days no-one would hear Christian Bruhns excellent theme as they would talk all over it. Nice to remember the days when (even on kid's tv), they let a programme play out to the end before running trailers

  • I loved Silas, it was a programme that I wouldn't miss, and long to see it again. I was 14 when it was on, can't believe at 38 that I still long for some old childhood moments....good times. The downloaded the theme on itunes....its even better than i remembered. Thanks for this posting
