Holy Family Catholic High School was founded in 1943 by the Holy Cross Province of the Congregation of the Passion ( www.passionist.org). In early 2006 we were selected as the first school in the South to join the Cristo Rey Network. On August 9, 2007 we officially opened as Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School. While we look to our future, we are ever mindful of our past. Holy Family has a rich tradition of educational excellence leading the way to college and professional career opportunities. Among our illustrious alumni are attorneys, dentists, educators, engineers, physicians, elected officials and other community leaders.
As in years past, Holy Family Cristo Rey students continue to receive a top quality college preparatory education. The added benefit of a Cristo Rey education is exposure to corporate culture and mentoring opportunities as students explore career options and prepare for the adult world.
We are dedicated to transforming urban Birmingham one student at a time through our innovative college preparatory curriculum rooted in the development of habits and mind and spirit, a unique partnership with the business community reflected in our Corporate Internship Program and a caring, Catholic community.
