I remember riding our bikes in the late 1970s when there where only the 3 big networks. I have vivid recall of how, with everyone's windows open on a nice evening, we kids could hear the music playing of the ABC Movie coming from all the houses on the block... everybody was watching it!

Chances are, that you saw either the edited version of "SALVAGE 1" that was

released in syndication through Fries Entertainment,,or from Columbia Pictures

Television, durring its Coca-Cola years, before it became Sony Pictures Television-

truely a depressing thought! and, with the recent passing of Andy Griffith, there are

still good odds, that this series could be released through Sony/Warner Archive's

MOD(Manufacture On Demand) system-depending on its popularity!

This tv movie pilot evolved into a series that Mr.Griffith and Mr.Higgins did before they became successful with "Matlock & Silver Spoons".

We need more escapist movies like "Salvage" to show on Sunday nights.

This TV series had an original concept-a junkyard man with some highly above average

ideas,,something way above what Fred Sanford could ever think of,,and two NASA trained

people-now that was very original! i really liked this ABC series a lot,,and often wondered

if it couild ever become availible. because it was produced by Columbia Pictures Television,

it would likely be a sensible canidate tor Sony's MOD arrangement thru Warner Archive-and

yes,,it was a pretty good TV series in summer 1979.

    - Some of the 70's programs were maybe a little cheesy, ( Buck Rogers, original BSG, Airwolf, etc. ) but damn - they still look golden compared to some of the reality / celebrity family dreck on today.
