When I get ferrets they are going on a raw diet :) nothing but the best for them

@Narutosims123 X3 Thanks. Currently my dog gets a diet based mostly around chicken (whether cut up from whole or bought in parts) supplemented with beef and pork. She's had rabbit, turkey, and deer before, too. XD Pretty much anything that qualifies as meat for us (and even things like frozen rats for snake food) make a good meal for a dog~ Good to hear about your ferrets! They're some of the toughest to switch to a raw diet, so good luck!

haha great rant. Raise your paw for raw! My akita/rottie can't have any type of bone other than soft chicken bones since he was chewing on a pork leg labor day of 2008 and cracked his tooth in half. $950 (to get the tooth removed, it was the largest molar) later, he just gets chicken bones (no breast bone though) or whole ground bone mixed in.

@dexamethasone Aw sorry to hear about him cracking a tooth! D; We're having problems with my sister's puppy actually... chewing. =__= She likes to just gulp down the meat whole (which she did with kibble, too) and ended up choking pretty badly this week.

@CalicoFeathers Would like to say that after doing a LOT of research on this, I found out that this is actually really normal for puppies. They end up coughing the inhaled food up and going "Oh... I should CHEW this time! 8D" and then they're all better. XD

It's like why would you feed your pets crap when we eat luxurious?! would we eat what we feed them? NO! but i garuntee that my parents wont start feeding my cats raw stuff :(

@LoveDoujinshi YES! I love you!!! I HATE when people are like ''LOOK i feed this cat or dog or LION a vegetarian diet and they're fine!!!'' But you can see they have low energy and stomach problems.... so by ''fine'' they mean ''not dead yet''.... There are bat shit crazy vegetarians in the world and then there are people like you who give a good name to vegetarians and love the animals the RIGHT WAY. So thank you.

I am a vegetarian, (my reasons are because I love animals) but I don't try to feed my animals a vegetarian diet too unless they are meant to have it. I don't think that dogs should be vegetarians. They are domesticated but still, they are carnivores and their diet should be meat. :/

I have seen operations on dogs where the poor dog has to have most of it's teeth removed because they were so rotten. Seriously, and they stand there defending themselves on what they are doing. I know a lot about dogs, I have even done a college course on small animals (a lot of it was to do with dogs) so I think I am in a position where I know a lot more about dogs than them, yet they just don't listen. It seriously pisses me off. GAAAAAA!!!!!

OK rant over. It just drives me nuts.

You don't know how much I agree with you. I get so worked up over this too. Actually, I would just be happy if my parents fed my dog only tinned food. That would be getting somewhere. She is fed so much crap, and when I say "It is bad for her, she is not supposed to eat that, why are you making her unhealthy?" THEY JUST SAY "oh well it is not much, let her eat it, you eat it too." WTF!?! Feeding your dog most things humans eat is just bad... just.. no. THEY GIVE HER THINGS LIKE CREAM, dear god!

btw, I think (depending on the breed) the bones in the raw diet are part of what keeps their teeth strong, right?

After watching this I decided to try it on my two dogs. One of them has been having serious stomach problems since we adopted him from the pound. We have tried so many dog foods, special vet brands, just everything. I started them on the raw diet slowly, and increased the amount of raw meat over time and it worked wonders. He is no longer throwing up. Plus I am not spending $70 dollars a week on a tiny bag of special kibble that my 75lb dogs could eat in one sitting
