Just testing all of the emergency lights after installation on my 2001 Ford Ranger. Consists of 4 Whelen Vertex LED light heads in the reverse lamps and front side marker lamps, along with two Whelen LINZ6 light heads behind the grille. Everything is controlled by a Whelen PCC10W switch box under my passenger airbag deactivation switch. Got everything from strobesnmore.com.

  • Hey Charlie, What would you recommend for light to install on my Ford 2005 Excursion PSD. we need lights for when we do oversized towing. people can't seem to see us coming on unlit roads.

  • @bait28 For towing you'd be best to have a lightbar along with some other lights. Get you some Vertex strobes and a couple of LINZ6's and you could do a setup like mine. All of the tow trucks that I've seen have amber ligthbars with brake lights built into the back of it. Be prepared to spend around $1500! LED lightbars start out at around $900.

  • Are they even legal? I didn't think you could use them on personal cars

  • @Intelliguy As long as they aren't blue or red, they're fine. Probably not a good idea to use them on the road just for the hell of it though...

  • Just for the record folks, I changed the flash patterns since this video was shot. I alos just got back in from installing two more Whelen Vertex lights in the OEM deck light assembly.. they are 20x brighter than before, and best of all.. no more "click-click-click-click"!

  • Charlie is a light whacker!! haha

  • @jsncrso Needs moar lightbar and antennas! LOL

  • what do you need it for?

  • i love this im a firechief and fed up with the code 3 anygood suggestions

  • Oh. Almost forgot. Do you have silver star headlights? The silverstar is way better then those UGLY dark blue headlights. You cant see a dam thing with dark blue headlights. Its so f*"**ing ugly to have dark blue ones.

  • Do you love that truck? I got a 1996 Ford Explore XL ( My first car and i LOVE IT ALOT! ) And i am sure that i got some features that are the same. How long did it take to do this?

  • cool video.

  • @soccerdude7330 hmmm, i was thinking for now, getting the same box you have, and then 6 whelen Vertexs for the front and rear along with in the grill. do you think that would be good? also what light bar do you recommend?
