Washing rice has nothing to do with hygiene. You wash certain rices to release the extra starches so that when you cook it, it's not mushy but firm. It has nothing to do with making sure its "clean".

She cooked fantastic but most black women wash their rice--very particular with hygiene especially with body first then food.

is it better to use block of coconut cream instead or the can... alot of people do leave the bone it but its more flavor whenn the bone is left in

In my rice I used parboiled rice. No need to wash parboiled rice.sorry for the broken messages, answering you from my cell phone
