VIN News - Brooklyn, NY - Nearly 1000 Mourners man and woman, gathered in Borough Park Wednesday night July 20 2011, crying and singing at a memorial service that was held at Congregation Anshe Sfard on 14th Ave. in Brooklyn, NY.
"There's nothing we could say that could really affect the family as much as singing," Cantor at Park East Synagogue Benny Rogosnitzky told WABC TV. "So we asked the family to come together with the community to sing and pray, and hopefully inspire them."
Leiby's father, Nachman Kletzky, joined the community. The service marked the end of the seven-day mourning period of Shiva.
The event was coordinated by the founders of Cantors world.
The five cantors were Yaakov Lemmer, Netanel Hershtik, Ben Zion Miller, Yaakov Rosenfeld, Shimmy Miller
wow, there are no words...a little boy who died before his time and Cantor Lemmer's voice holding all of the sorrow and grief in it. Grief from the community and the world. R.I.P. Leiby.

This may be an awkward question but I will ask it anyway.
Is the Borough Park community standing by Levi Aron and have a level of conciliation with him, or are they more like "good riddance, go to hell"?
Just interested from an anthropological point of view to see how such a tight-knit community deals with such tragedy and the perpetrator.

@shmulyeng I would think that this is an age-old chant (or hymn) sung in the Jewish tradition. Just beautiful...gives me chills. These men are cantors (chanters) which you find in Jewish temples. I am a Greek Orthodox Christian & while I'm not Jewish I can relate to the depth, beauty & sorrow of these chants. We also have cantors (called psalti) that chant along with the services.
