More Info: http://www.DonnaLoren.net -
18-year old Donna Loren performing live with the Mitchell Ayres Orchestra on the Milton Berle Show which aired 9/16/66. Donna was signed as a regular on the show with Bobby Rydell, but the show was short-lived and she only appeared in four telecasts. Donna released a 45rpm record of this Tony Hatch penned tune in 1965 on Capitol Records in a completely different 'softer' style. You can hear or view that version on her website at http://www.donnaloren.net. "Call Me" was a hit for Petula Clark in the UK and Chris Montez in America.

Donna Loren was the one-and-only "Dr Pepper Girl" from 1963 to 1968. She was signed to a long-term contract with the soft-drink company to sing all television and radio commercials, do all magazine and billboard advertising representing them in every capacity, sometimes sharing the spotlight with American Bandstand's Dick Clark. This relationship led to her touring in Dick Clark's Caravan of Stars with other popular acts like Diana Ross and The Supremes and singing solos in the popular Beach Party films starring Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon. Later, she became the regular female vocalist on the popular 60's American live rock n roll TV show "Shindig" and she appeared in singing and acting roles in many iconic TV shows like The Monkees, Gomer Pyle, The Mothers-In-Law, Red Skelton, Milton Berle and various game shows. In the 60's she released 18 singles and an LP. Her new CD entitled "Love It Away" is her first new music in decades. Hear it at http://www.DonnaLoren.net. • @floralparkkid Especially after what Berle had to do to get it...convince NBC to remove the exclusivity clause from his famous contract (in 1951 he signed a 30-year deal at $100K a year to be Peacock property...I understand in return the money was reduced to $40K).

  • @sleepypie It's not impossible...Basil was a dancer/choreographer for years before her hit song "Mickey"

  • @TheBlueGlasses

Funny thing, this is a constant desire from old guys like me but now commenting on these clips and many live band performances of the 60's, young folks are wishing the same thing. They know, well at least the smart ones, they are being short changed by a jaded and immoral society.

  • I'd call her for phone sex anytime.

  • Aqua net..my mom would spray that shit all over the bathroom while having the cig in the ashtray! HA. Great clip Berle the best
