  • Please note that H2S Is posion, you never can't predict if the concentration is lethal

  • Is not lethal!

  • Really good work! That oxalic acid he put on in is very toxic acid!

  • Thanks! nah it depends, don't ingest it since it dissolve your bones and form a unsoluble powder ^^ but otherwise not very dangerous..

  • Very Good vid!! 5*

  • Hehe Thanks! :) try to make it sometime :)

  • ok so besides all you screaming about the toxicity of the reagents and products, you have a brain use it and keep yourselves safe you already made your point, why didn't any one mention to him that washing like that takes way too long. just wash it in a filter paper and funnel set up over the drain or in a cup?. don't have to decant, way faster unless the powder is too fine, then even gravity filtering is slow. so you need vacuum filter for speed and ease. cool vid thanks

  • have you got a good ratio for flashpowder?

  • Yes ! H2S is really VERY VERY poisonous... Toxicity is rated 4 on NFPA 704 (mean : very short exposure could cause death or majors residual injury) and it's highly flammable... That kind of reaction should be done under a fume hood or at least outside !

But looks like you're still alive, so great vid :p

  • @strontiumperoxide it will "dissolve your bones" into a "powder" but meh it's "not very dangerous" LOL

  • @strontiumperoxide

Actually Hydrogen Sulfide is very poisonous with LD50s similar to Hydrogen Cyanide. At large amounts in paralyzes the nose so there is no odor warning.

Although the trace amounts found in this video aren't that dangerous

  • very nice!! may i ask, where you obtain oxalic acid?

  • at 2:04 are burning the strontium oxalate by itself or in a composition?

    if so what composition?

  • H2S has a hazard warning of 4 for toxicity. So does cyanide.........4 means imediately hazardous to health causing severe injury or death.

  • Yes it is... > 20 ppm: Skin irritation (few hours) 100 ppm: Irritation eyes, skin > 200 ppm: Headache, breathing problems > 250 ppm: You can't smell anymore --> You can't smell the gas. > 300 ppm: You need to throw up 500 ppm: You are weak. When you're exposed for 30 minutes at this concentration, you can die. > 500 ppm: Muscular pain, Unconsciousness 1000 ppm: Death in a few minutes! 5000 ppm: Death in a few seconds... H2S Is T+ ( Very toxic) Do this reaction outside or in a fumehood
