How to record your music using Behringer's Energy XT and Guitar RIG (running as a VST plugin in EnergyXT). In this video i show how to record with the EnergyXT program that came with my USB Audio Interface (UCA 222) from Behringer. The audio interface is connected to my Behringer Eurorack UB802 mixer.

  • i have been trying this for a long time but i dont think that its picking up my guitar. will some one give me some pointers on how to hook this up right?

  • @codao18 How did you hook up your guitar? Trough a mixer? Mixer -> USB audio? Or a "guitar link"? What's your setup? There are many vids on youtube explaining how to connect everything the correct way. People need a little more detail before they can tell what the problem is.

  • hey is this a good recording software program? I'm getting pretty stressed out, looking to buy a program but there's too many choices...i looked on amazon and saw this Behringer VAmp thing and thought it might be cool....so please give me some advice, thanks

  • @freddiebarry93 Yeah it's a pretty decent recording program although i personally prefer Mixcraft these days - it has lots more options and is still pretty easy to use (and apart from that, you don't need to take a second mortgage on the house for it, haha). I got Energy as a freebie with my Behringer UCA222 and for a free software program it's pretty good. But if you want to get real good sounding recordings i suggest Mixcraft. Look it up on google, you can d/l a trial version.

  • @brinkhost thanks! i've been checking Mixcraft out, having a lot of fun with it and recorded some tracks

but do you know how to convert MX5 files to mp3 files?

  • @freddiebarry93 - go to the "File" option at the top left -> Mix Down to -> mp3.

  • @brinkhost ok ill check it out

  • @cjguth3 - software using the USB-interface? Does Energy play back? I can't drop a link here in the comments but on the Behringer site are some good examples of setups.

  • @brinkhost It's all hooked up right because it records on diffrent software. thanks though

  • @cjguth3 - are you sure it's hooked up right? Are you sure you have the drivers installed correct? What if you drag-and-drop a WAV-file in it or program some drums, to you hear them play? Does your computer have USB2.0? On the Behringer website there's some more information or perhaps you could call or email them. It's difficult for me to say, from a distance..
