  • The fact is, you just can't make everybody happy. If he would have picked a "pro-gay" pastor, then the "anti-gay" community would have been upset. Let's give everyone a turn, lol!

  • Bush ignored a PDB (short for presidential daily brief) that made clear an attack was imminent. If he had done a good job keeping us safe 9/11 wouldn't have happened. We wouldn't have wasted trillions in Iraq and the economy would be in much better shape.

  • It's morally wrong when it comes to gays or lesbians. Let's just put either 2 guy's or 2 girl's in Voyager and launch them.

  • Adam and Eve.

  • Let me opt out of this discussion. I sympathize with both canycme and pachomius1000. Obama should never have picked Rick Warren. It is against the concept of free speech which all of us here cherish so much.

  • Hi BBSR, I agree that choice was a bad idea. I was in a state of disbelief when I first heard about it.

Eventually I put it in the context of bridging the divide with a large segment of society. Although many people share Warren's views, it doesn't make it right. I stated before those views are outdated. They were never acceptable but they do still exist.

I'm disappointed he is bestowed such an honor, so I reconcile that with the hope more people will revisit those biases and begin to change.

  • canycme,

Rick Warren may be popular among many, but his views are an assault on free speech, one that is so dear to all our hearts. Obama should never have picked him.
