the crossface has nothing to do with direction of gaze its purely misalignment of the opponents spine via the head manipulation.Even the upa seems to be purely head motion rather than eyes.Rickson says to side flex the neck away from the bridging direction and look at the ground as you lift the hips.Nice concise concept videos though
