Filth and garbage are huge problems in the slum areas of Mumbai. There is hardly any municipal system for collecting waste. This video takes slum dwellers on a visual journey with a piece of garbage, showing them the huge and unsustainable landfills where their garbage end up, and introduces them to a hard-working woman who makes her living as a rag-picker in those landfills.
Success stories: This film has been used by NGOs working on the issue of sanitation and have seen an increase of meeting attendances. Most importantly, the Government placed dumpsters in two of the major slum areas for the first time.
