Produced by the British Government in October 1940, 'London Can Take It' is narrated by American journalist Quentin Reynolds and pays tribute to London and its people during the Blitz on the capital.

The film's huge impact at the time, especially in the USA, makes it historically one of the most important of the Ministry of Information's wartime films.

  • @Elberiver11 Good. If only we'd had more bombers we could have done more. Get over it. You can try to deny the Holcaust and re-write history all you like (although that's a crime in Germany of course). You lost the war. Tough titty. As for Poland and the events of 1919 - that was of course the result of ANOTHER lost war by the "Fatherland" (Ha! Ha!) So learn your own history moron. Anyway - who gives a toss after 65 years?

  • Elberiver11 is quite funny. He is a troll dont feed him dont argue he uses his half history and selective quoteing to make a wrong statement seem true. Food for though Dresden dead 25-30k not 200k. Poland was a line in the sand after appeasment failed not an excuse for war. The first civilian bombing was done by germans. And you complain about our firestorms. I think your upset we were just abit better than you at it. Didnt ur best mate Göring say no allied bombers would fly over germany?

  • @boltoniangirl Yeah, you`d all be speaking French.

  • 1966 HAMMY COULD YOU TELL ME WHAT IS THE NAME OF MUSIC IN THIS FILM PS THANK YOU

  • @Elberiver11 the "British murder of 600,000 women men and children" doesn't quite equate to the 6.5million Jews, 2.5million Poles, 13.7million Soviets, 275,000 Disabled people, 200,000 Freemasons, 2,000 Jehovahs Witnesses, 5,600 Catholic Clergy, all to name just a few groups who were murdered by the hands of the Nazi Regime... Just saying... no murder is justified... However its clear to me that the Nazi's killed more people than the British. And I think you will find that Germany Started it...

  • The strength that the Brits displayed during this conflict was incredible. It takes a lot to get up the next day and carry on with life as before despite the nightly barrages of destruction.

  • Imagine the equivalent of 911 every night for over 5 weeks.

  • Interestingly, it was during World War II that the American voice and speech pattern became prominent in broadcasting.

  • @Bigredgumball . You pointed out something lost in the foul mouthed arguments on this page - the human aspect of the bombings. What is it like to go out for the evening and come back to a blackened shell, or nothing at all? If only people would look outside of themselves and their political arguments to see the human view and cost of these actions. Perhaps they wouldn't be so quick to spew venom at each other in these postings. Thanks for your sharing and sensitivity.

  • @H215 PROPHETIC!!!!
