One of the world's most underrated technical wrestlers. Dean Malenko has seen action all around the world, primarily in Japan, at the start of his career, and branching out as time went on. In New Japan Pro Wrestling, he competed in the Jr. Heavyweight division against the likes of Jushin "Thunder" Lyger. He also competed in the first round of the1994 Super J Cup, though he'd come up short in the first round. In the States, he found a great deal of success, first in ECW, where he would hold the ECW World Tag Team Titles with Chris Benoit, and the ECW World Television Title twice, trading off in a series of great matches with Eddie Guerrero. In WCW, more success followed, as he became a WCW World Tag Team Champion, as well as the U.S. Champion, and a four time Cruiserweight Champion. The WWF Lightheavyweight Title was also held twice by Malenko after he and the Radicalz jumped in 2000. Malenko isn't overly flashy, and isn't afraid to get scrappy with his opponents to set up the Texas Cloverleaf.

  • What's the name of the wrestler Malenko is fighting for the Dropkick to the Knee and Figure 4 Leglock bits? He looks dark!

  • Jushin "Thunder" Lyger

  • @TheSuicidalDragon I like watching your series on different wrestlers. However, I'd like to ask, why didn't you include his top rope gut buster?

  • No usable footage, unfortunately.

  • Goldberg said he (Malenko) invented the Jackhammer, would you know if that's true?

  • Jaguar Yokota invented the Jackhammer, actually.

  • he is a fucking legend

  • That was not a Tombstone Piledriver....

  • @Jontish316 Dean Malenko did the Jackhammer first, yeah, but he did it from the turnbuckle. Goldberg was the first who did it in the middle of the ring with pure strength. but its true, he saw Malenko doin it n said: "oh yeah I like that"

  • @Whyisthisthat SuicidalDragon usually uses puroresu footage for copyright reasons - the Japanese (and Mexican, to an extent) promotions don't seem to care if fans use classic footage on YouTube whereas American companies always put in complaints and get videos taken down and uploaders banned.

  • @TheSuicidalDragon Thanks for Eddie G, the best worker in history (Shawn Michaels is a distant second.)

  • His avalanche double arm gutbuster was boss

  • WWE Hall of Fame!!!

  • He did a tombstone in WCW. But that was a reverse Pancake.

  • He was so miss used in the WWE. He did the Tombstone Piledriver better than anyone in the history of the WWE, even the over-rated has-been Undertaker.

  • The Jackhammer off the top rope and the crossface should be on the list

+ why is all this footage from japan?
