  • • Notice where Garfunkel tells the crowd it’s a new song and says its name. There is total silence. That's because no one had ever heard it before! Now try to remember back to the first time you heard it and how perfect it sounded. And then let it all flood in and take you away. And it will. It will take you back to that moment, if only for a moment. Even if you don't recall those exact circumstances, the spirit of that moment will be rekindled and revealed.

  • This is such a beautiful song. This song is, something else. Makes me cry every time I hear it.

  • One of the greatest songs ever written in Popular Music. It could be about friends helping each other, or God carrying us, when we could not carry ourselves. Whatever the interpretation, Paul Simon wote a "Wonderful Classic". His partner Arthur Garfunkel had an "Angelic voice". Certainly they were "The Everly Brothers", extended to new heights in rock and roll. "Message music" at it's best. Doesn't exist anymore. Too bad.

  • Devotion, Sincere Friendship, Love, Committment of a human being...tears never cease to flow.

  • for me tears come at sail on silver girl - in my mind this is a song of love for a child. Just listen to that applause at the end, says it all. I am 42 years old, just like the song...

  • fragile --- impossibly fragile ...

  • I guess that's the magic of the arts for you. I can honestly say my life has been made richer and happier because of these two gentlemen and their music.

  • @TerraceYouth Great observation. Little did they all know that was history being made. 40+ years later, it's a classic.

  • @TerraceYouth, that's true what you say. There's something magical in this song and when you hear it for the first time, it's like the entire world stops for a moment. That's pure genious.

  • I had a bootleg of this concert and one of the great regrets of my life was losing it.

  • that is the most deserved applause ever.

    of all time.
