Just my thoughts on how a people divided against itself cannot stand. Our apathy regarding issues is one of the root causes for our current sufferings.

I'm with you on this. One thing that HAS worked with our new president is that he has inspired people to 'do'. There have been those who has made the pledge to volunteer via 'service'. I think what really needs to be done is we need a 'special' force of people who 'care'. Whenever there is an issue there will be a 'force' to petition the govmt, a force that gather the locals for a good cause. Organize peaceful marches, protests, gatherings. If our ancestors(cvl rgts) did it why can't we?

I can't agree. Please go read HR 1388 The "Give Act" Which makes this service mandatory. In section 1304 while you serve in this mandatory position you may not: (1)Attempt to influence legislation.

(2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes. Engaging in partisan political activities, or other activities designed to influence the outcome of an election to any public office. Please go read the bill. You are no longer allowed to disagree with Government! Dangerous!

I will add this thought. There is no process stated to rule out those who may not be suited for service due to mental or physical disability. Do you want a paranoid schizophrenic policing your neighborhood in times of civil unrest? This bill is to produce the same sort of compulsory service as the Germans did under Hitler. It's just packaged up with a bow on top. Everyone needs to go to the government site and read the FULL TEXT of this bill you will be frightened!

Look up The Milgram Experiment. That is the basis for my statement. Basically it's a lack of morals and impulse control when we feel we are being watched as opposed to when we feel we can do something without having to pay consequences ;)

You speak the truth... We must turn away from the narcissism that so many of us have succumbed to. It prevents us from uniting and working for the common good of all people. The economic crises exacerbates the breakdown of the social order in so many communities. Major changes in lifestyles are necessary in order to thrive. Materialism cannot sustain us.

I actually do not think that the !st amendment really applies to everyone only those that are in certain positions. This also has become the "me" generation.

OMG Pinky! Myself and some friends and family members were just talking about this. We were all trying to figure out how to go about getting 'The People' reunited. And how on earth do we go about getting this country back, making it ours again! Of the people, by the people, for the people, so to speak.

Starting @ home. My hubby and I decided we weren't going 2 shop at a certain store. It's our way of not contributing 2 the pimping of ppl. It would be easier 2 shop @ this store becuz we hv 3 w/in a 10 mi radius. The prices are cheaper but looking @ the big pix... the ppl they pimp mean more 2 us than the $
