This was my first large-scale composition at Murray State University recorded in the Spring of 2004. The instrumentation is: 2 violins, viola, cello, oboe, bassoon, and a killer marimba solo.
The bassoon was a little overpowering in some spots; perhaps this was intended, but to me it seemed out of place. The marimba was great, as were the violinists keeping in good time during their pairings. Great job.
Very good point. When I wrote the piece, that bassoon part was intended for a second cello, but I couldn't find anybody to play it so I had to change to a bassoon. lol Thanks for the comment.
