Does one have to cut off their roots in order to spread their wings and soar high ?

14 year old Angad Singh, interviews the participants of a Sikh Youth Leadership retreat in his quest to highlight the challenges they face every day being both American and Sikhs, the spirit with which they overcome them and the message they have for their fellow young Sikhs.

A work in progress; the movie when completed aims to bring the voices of young Sikh Americans to the mainstream communities and educators.

  • I've got the full dvd of this...It's really good and you can learn alot from it.

  • the kids dont know anything, but such shallow activities will make it v difficult for them 2 escape stereotypical/mechanistic way of thinking: i.e. american=sikhi; secular modernism=SIkhi.these camps will program them to translate Sikhi into simple idiotic western terms-american, democratic, modern.scietific

we really need to get beyond these stereotypical orientalist sel-understandings,modes of engagements.there is no space 4 change without the disruption of these encrusted layers ofpeception.

  • hahahaha... come on now !

American = Sikh and vice versa!

have we lost our souls to capitalist secularist metaphysics of West?

a litlle distressed, insecure, r we?

this type of "activism" (camps etc) sre percisely the reason why nothing gets done, they are no allowing any serious disccusion, any serious work ... its all a pre-programmed, mechanistic response that the system produces through you... nothing original/productive here.

order make space for Sikh 'way of life.'

  • each and every1 of these let downs bring it upon themselves for being victims

  • BOOM!

  • My roots are in the Earth and my Wings are in Infinity. I had a morning of purification watching this video. After 38 days of practicing Vipassana only, this video has helped me to SEE how much I missed Kundalini Yoga and Gurbani. Thank you.
