  • Keynes was supportive of Silvio Gesell's theory and criticised it only for incompleteness, not surprising since Gesell was a businessman and not an academic economist. Gesell proposed not only free money subject to demurrage but also free land in common ownership with rights to use to be traded on the open market. His main work is entitled "The Natural Economic Order".

  • @Marcomanseckisax Yes, I cite Gesell extensively in my book and discuss Keynes' view of him too, as well as his views on land. I think he is a really important thinker. Unfortunately, almost all his work has never been translated into English.

  • Great work Chuck, wholeheartedly agree with interest being the source of greed and competition which we so offhandedly dump aside as human nature. Local currencies are the future, and the system of demurrage is very promising. Be the change!
