was that just the way his voice sounded in the show or is it really low in volume and semi shallow sounding becuase of the camera not being able to take the high volume.

a little bit of both. some stage mic distortion, but no, the volume was not low at the show by any means. the main problem is; the samsung hz15w has 2 mic settings: low (virtually no) audio or distorted (hi) audio. since neither is a good choice, i don't recommend it as either a still or video camera. back to the drawing board...
