In 1932 comedy greats Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy starred in "The Music Box", a short film about two bumbling delivery men trying to deliver a piano up a flight of steep steps. That film eventually won the Academy award that year for best short film. "The Music Box" was filmed on location at the 900 block of Vendome street in the Silverlake section of Los Angeles, California. I had a chance to visit that location last year and video tape some footage. Here now is that footage.

  • great video man, it must be awesome to feel the vibe knowing the best commedians ever had walked there.

I was in LA last summer but unfortunately had no opportunity to visit this place.

    thanks

  • @adb123gjj123 - Your'e welcome! It did feel as if the spirits of Ollie and Stan were there with me...

  • You are SO lucky! I hope the "Music Box" is available - I'm dying to see it now!

Thanks - this was cool :D

  • @MCMOOGIE - They show it once in a while on AMC, check the AMC website to see when they will show it again :)

  • Evan:

The film was filmed and released in 1932, not 1934.

  • Your'e right, thanks for the correction :)

  • Cool spot . It's classic that a fat Mexican broad W/4 kids walk by. Are they legal?
