Part 1 of a video that walks the viewer through installing Windows Server Codename Longhorn and creating a bootable Windows PE disk with ImageX included. It then shows how to use the Windows PE image to boot up and create a file based image (WIM) of the Longhorn Server and finally, how to apply that image to a new machine.
also - if you have proper licensing on paper - does imageX carry the same product KEY over for each install?

Can not someone post an already imageX included winPE somewhere?
Can not someone add how to set up a server to support PXE booting winPE? Most of the you tube demos assume Virtuul ISO or Thumb drive access

I'd recommend installing it on your desktop versus in Virtual PC. However, what you are really doing is getting access to some command line tools to create an customize Windows PE. You can move them once installed. For example, I recommend putting a copy of ImageX in your Windows PE image in this video (or in part 2 of this video).

Question: I am running windows 7 ulitmate x64. I am also running Virutal pc 2007. I have installed an ISO image of windows 7 enterprise x86. Now, do I install the x86 AIK Tool in my virutal machine or because I am running x64 on the host machine must I run the x64 AIK tool within Enterprise?
