OMG, I was freaking out, because I went to this tournament in 2011, in the mat to the left (if you face the judges). Then I saw that it was from 2007. None the less, GREAT TECHNIQUES!

Thought I would let you know sir, my instructor showed me this video approximately 4 years ago before I joined our school as a way to show me what American Kenpo is like. It's been 4 years since then, and I still never get sick of this video. And the more time I've spent training, the more I've come to appreciate just how amazing these practitioners are. I salute you all

can anyone tell me what the name of the song is?

I studied EP's kenpo for a few years...many of the core essence of the techniques you learn are effective, but each technique has way to many movements for the real world. Each technique should have the number of movements reduced for greater effectiveness in real world self defense.

Wish the video quality was better but I love what i can see.

@Bladestar7 .... Most techniques can be completed in less than 2 seconds... I've been a black belt in Kenpo since 1994. I can tell you that not only does it happen very fast, but the times I have had to defend myself, I can't even finish the technique.

i really love this vid do you have one with a little better picture quility ?
-
@Bladestar7 - When Kenpoists do their techniques on each other, we hit each other with "controlled anger". If we were to hit each other full force with many of these strikes and techniques you see, we wouldn't have anymore training partners.

@ManUpFightGear First of this is a dril tech line ... NOT reality! DUH!! Second I invite you to sneek up on any one in this line and then we can ask you the very same question as you ly on the floor in you very own puddle! LOL
This is truly impressive. I have always liked Kenpo. the flkow of it. My only problem is that when they practice their techniques, the guys just stand there. What happens when they have to fight an opponent in motion?

Its a "DEMO" situation. Duh! Itf the initial block and or strike actually made contact, the situation would change considerably.. I have been dropprd by an inward block before. Those who have trained in the Pasadena school will back me on this one!! LOL
