Dodge Omni Shift Tube Bushing Replacement

After I manufactured a new bushing for the rod on the shifter tube (see http://www.ifitjams.com/linkage.htm ) I wanted to see it shift through all 5 gears and reverse. I've driven the car around some and it works well, but I worry that the rubber is too soft, so I want to see from the video if there's room for an add-on clip or some sort tie-down.
