As a 8-year liturgical musician and singer who performs this setting weekly, I really do enjoy it. If you have creative musicians, there is a lot of room to "customize" the feeling of this setting. I'll see if it's possible to post a video of the way my ministry performs it before Lent swings around.

@andyjackson1550 There's a reason the Protestant churches are filled.

I agree. The first time I heard this piece, it reminded me of the Protestant Musak I heard while visiting a friend's mega church. Subsequent listening have now improved my opinion. Why do we give God the dregs of our music repertoire?

@jminarik2000 My pastor and I decided on this setting because we also use a single mass setting for all masses (including the once-a-month Youth Participation Mass). My organist "retrofitted" the keyboard accompaniment for organ (we have a PHENOMENAL Phoenix digital organ), and our assembly (and choirs) picked up on it quite quickly.

@98JB12 thank you like million times for your comment. I've been searching for this song for more than 2 hours... I almost gave up, but last search word, "new mass song sounds like titanic" brought me here!!! Thanks!! and God Bless you <3 I'll bring this music tomorrow for newyear's eve retreat for young adults. yay!!!

The melody idea of the Lamb of God sounds like the Titanic theme song :)

I am personally not a fan of contempory christian music. Our Diocese has decided to use this setting as well. I think some people don't want to offend the masses (no put intended) by saying they do not like this music. We all have our different tastes. I prefer Bach, Victoria, Handel, Corellis, etc. and chant over contemporary christian music. I believe in the doctrine of the affections. I am sure some people on here will bash me for my personal preferences, but it is what it is.

this mass setting is fantastic! My teens are loving it and can't wait to sing it! Praise God for bringing teens back into the pews!

This is one of the best settings I have heard. If you like this, you might also like my original arrangement. Check out "New Catholic Mass Music" or "New Catholic Mass Music Gloria" videos. These arrangements are getting rave reviews at our parish in Southern California.
Love this setting! Of all the options for new mass settings, we have decided to use Mass of St. Ann. We're using one mass setting for the entire parish, so we needed something that worked for traditional choir as well as contemporary groups. The option of a through-composed or refrained Glory to God was awesome too :D

@jminarik2000: Same here! We had it narrowed down to 5 new settings, and our music committee listened to the other four and liked them well enough but none stood out. Then we heard this one, and it was unanimous, this was the one for us! We also have a very traditional crowd at one Mass, a teen group at another, and SATB and folk guitar choirs. Amazingly enough, reps from every group just loved this setting.
