  • @STIRKDAWG i dont know why so many people are dissing this comment, you are absolutely right. Gadd had a grace about him when he recorded this in the studio (in one take might i add). The empty space that he left in the recording not only helped the song, but allowed the other members of the band to fill that space, ultimately creating the Aja that we true musicians have come to respect. Silly wanna-be drummers. Go watch a Travis Barker video or something.

  • @patthedrummer85 What didn't you understand about my comment? Dennis Chambers payed homage to Steve Gadd's take on the song on Steely Dan, 'Alive in America.' Do YOU know what you're talking about? Seek out that version of Aja and YOU tell ME; Did Dennis Chambers stick to Steve Gadd's script a bit more?

  • Dennis Chambers' take on Steve Gadd solos??? do you even know what you're talking about?

Have YOU toured with Steely Dan on drums? I think not.

  • I was gutted to miss this concert! it had sold out, grrrr still hurts! ;(

  • Yak, yak, yak...why can't the audience shut up and listen?

  • every drummer has his own voice man its just about preferences dont waste your time with that type of things come on,,,

  • Keith would benefit from listening to Dennis Chambers' take on the Steve Gadd solos. Not so busy, way more syncopated, and way less cymbals for God's sake. Can I play the solo better? Hell no but a guy with Keith Carlock's talent should know better than the drumset acrobatics. He's so busy playing sixteenths and rolls that he's neglected the empty space with which Gadd so brilliantly infused the original solo. I felt the same way when I saw them live.
