Hagia Sophie should be made a Christian place of religon again. This church was the centre of the Christian world for a thousand years. I find it an insult to see it as a museum. I am tolerant of all religons but if Europe freely allows Mosques to be built in its borders then the Hagia Sophia should be returned to allow Christian worship there. I do not see this to be a unreasonable request for Turkey.

@ADZ01982 It's because the Turkish government hides behind the idea of religious tolerance but still holds the "values" of the old Ottoman regime against non-Muslim worship within the Turkish state. Also, tensions run high between surrounding Orthodox Christian nations, such as Greece and Armenia, and Turkey. Agia Sophia as a church would be a problem in Ankara. The sad thing is that the EU (among others) doesn't care much about one church robbed from us. Efharisto, and greetings from Greece.

@ROBHUGHES1453 don't confuse laicism with atheism. tukey is the epitome of an islamic colony. the crescent became the symbol of islam after the fall of constantinople. turkey is a muslim country with secular (military) administration (built on christian blood and bones)

There was a reason that God permitted Muslim Turks to capture and convert Holy Church of +Hagia Sophia to mosque of Ayasofya."The Crusaders" , "Christians from other countries", came before Turks and totally showed disrespect to Christianity in Byzantine and no need here to repeat what they had done to the Constantinople, Its Clergy and men, women, children.I lived in the City 26 years, i still hear morning prayers and chanting Angels waking people up from the sleep. We will see God's decision.

@xxTurquiaxx how about you learn some history. When you muslims invaded Spain (since war is your way of life like your muhammad instructed you) you conquered the area cordoba, Andalusia. At the site was a church and you muslims converted it to a mosque before building a new mosque on the site of the church.

The Spanish took back Spain and rebuilt the church that you muslims had previously demolished. As usual you muslims do not apply logic. You only want to take by force other lands and people.
