On January 1st, 2010, a small team of brave, passionate young immigrant students from Floridas Students Working for Equal Rights (SWER) will embark on a 4-month long, 1,500 mile walk the Trail of Dreams. As they travel through the southeastern United States, this courageous group will be seeking meetings with political and civic leaders, joining in rallies and vigils, and reaching out to the media - galvanizing support for immigration policy reform in communities that might otherwise be without a voice. Their Trail will lead them all the way from Miamis Freedom Tower to the United States Capitol in Washington D.C., where they will join with thousands of others on in a mass rally for reform on May 1st, 2010.

  • The DREAM Act misses the entire point of being an ILLEGAL ALIEN. Illegal does not mean "if you can avoid being deported for five or more years", it means YOU'RE NOT ENTITLED TO BE HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. I would like to introduce my own DREAM ACT. I DREAM politicians will begin to stand up for legal, tax-paying, middle class citizens who follow the laws. Deport law breakers and their anchor babies. Stop subsidizing criminal behaviour. Deport them all.

  • These stupid videos by "dream" Act supporters put images of a few illegal immigrants that are clearly educated.. Unfortunately, that is far from the majority. Less then 50% of hispanics graduate highschool. Sure, some get their GED, but we all know that they are a step behind. A study conducted 10 YEARS after the 1986 Amnesty showed that the majority of those immigrants had a 7th grade reading level & made less then 15K / yr. No thanks on supporting a bunch of poor people!

  • Are you Going to you homeland to fight for these right for your brother and sister! No I didn't think so you cowards! You can't make your own dream back in your own country even with your stolen education and the lower wages jobs your parent left to the poor here! But you want us to think if your let stay here you will save us! Ha! lol! Cowards don't change often! In you case it run in the family doesn't! But hope is still what I hope for you show us you will go back and stand up for freedom!!

  • Thank you for not stopping. Thank you for keeping the dream alive. It will be a reality soon.
