  • Shawn,

    This is a very important tip. I have heard a tip from a friend that has helped me so I wanted to share.

    At setup, look down at your feet. If your head is in the middle you are balanced. If your head is favored left or right your shoulders and balance are out of sync.

    I have found with this tip I can stay centered and in balance enough to keep the head steady.

  • Great Tip! I teach this all the time combined with the feet together drill: When feet are together, head stays on top of the feet; when feet are apart, head stay between the feet and you are right by saying that the peripheral vision is what you want to use to monitor the situation! Awesome dude! Thanks for posting! Shawn

  • hello there shawn,

    for a while now i have had big problems with moving my eyes away from the ball and too the right for the first part of the takeway in my swing, i do this more with the shorter clubs than i do with my driver. Doing this gets the club inside too much in my backwsing.

    How can i solve this bad habbit/ problem?

    thanks in advance!

  • Very common issue and one I deal with on a daily basis! I have a section in my dvd on this specifically and a you tube video too;

    Go to my website on the "you tube Shawn" page and check out the "Eye Ball" video...

    Thanks for the comment, Shawn

  • Shawn, How should the head tilt at address and is this important at all? In this left sided sequence your head was tilted with your left ear leaning towards your left shoulder - so your chin was pointing in the direction of the target. In the 'take better divot' video your head is positioned back of the ball and chin is pointing away from the target - ie; the opposite of what I observe in this video. I was wondering if you have a preference and does eye dominance play into it? Thank you.

  • This is a very important lesson. It helps maintain the tilted spiral, something that I have struggled with. Thanks... I'm going to check out "eye ball".

    Dan
