John McCain to Dick Cheney: "We Ought To Look Forward"

On "Face the Nation," Bob Schieffer asks Sen. John McCain to comment on former Vice President Dick Cheney's comments that the Obama administration is "dithering" and "endangering" troops currently fighting.

"I wouldn't use that language," McCain responds, adding: "I think we ought to look forward, that is to support the President... I think the President will make the right decision."

Schieffer then asks McCain if Cheney speaking out helps the Republican party or hurts it. "He has the right to speak out," McCain says. "Having said that, I think we should, as much as possible, say our message is... we want to support the President and unite the country behind it."

Schieffer then told McCain that he didn't answer his question. "I don't know," he said. "I would leave others to judge, really."
